Privacy Policy
RND Co. Ltd. ("we," "us," or the "Company") establishes this Privacy Policy (the "Policy") regarding the handling of user information (including personal information) in the smartphone application provided by the Company (the "App").
Article 1 (Definitions)
- "Personal Information" means personal information as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan.
- "User Information" means all information obtained by the Company in connection with provision of the App, including personal information, device information, log information, and usage information.
- "Healthcare Data" means health and exercise data that may be obtained through healthcare-related functions/APIs such as Apple HealthKit.
Article 2 (Information We May Collect)
The Company may collect the following information (whether and to what extent information is collected depends on App functions and user settings/consent):
Information entered or submitted by users
- Name, email address, and similar information submitted when making inquiries
- Registration information when account registration is used
- Training logs, notes, and similar content entered/saved in the App (User Content)
Device and usage information
- Device identifiers (which may include advertising IDs), OS/device type, and language settings
- In-app operation history, screen transitions, crash information, and performance information
- Communication-related information such as IP addresses (collection method depends on analytics infrastructure used)
Information collected through healthcare integration (HealthKit, etc.)
- Healthcare Data within the scope permitted by users (for example, activity, workouts, and body measurements)
Payment-related information (if paid features are provided)
- Purchase history and similar information (payments are processed by platform operators, and the Company may not directly collect credit card numbers, etc.)
Article 3 (Collection Methods)
The Company obtains User Information through the following methods:
- User input/submission
- Automatic collection associated with use of the App (logs, crash reports, etc.)
- Collection based on user consent in connection with external service integration (HealthKit, etc.)
- Collection via third-party services such as analytics tools and advertising SDKs (if used)
Article 4 (Purposes of Use)
The Company uses User Information for the following purposes:
- To provide and operate the App, verify identity, and provide user support
- To improve App functions and quality, analyze failures, and analyze usage status
- To investigate/prevent violations of terms of use or unauthorized use and to ensure safety
- To communicate maintenance information, important notices, and similar information
- To provide paid features and manage billing/charges/purchases (if applicable)
- For purposes incidental to the above
Article 5 (Use of Analytics Tools: Google Analytics)
The Company may use analytics tools such as Google Analytics for iOS to analyze usage status for quality improvement and usage analysis of the App.
Details regarding information collected through analytics tools, purposes of use, and opt-out methods are governed by this Policy and the terms established by each provider.
Article 6 (Healthcare Integration: HealthKit, etc.)
Based on user consent, the App may integrate with HealthKit and similar services and may obtain, store, display, and analyze Healthcare Data. Scope of data collection is subject to consent screens and in-app displays.
Users may change or withdraw integration permissions at any time through device settings and similar methods. If permission is withdrawn, certain App functions may become unavailable, or displays/analysis may become incomplete.
Users acknowledge in advance that App functions may be restricted due to specification changes, suspension, or failures of external platforms such as HealthKit.
Article 7 (Provision to Third Parties)
The Company does not provide personal information to third parties without prior user consent, except in the following cases:
- Where required by laws and regulations
- Where necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property and obtaining consent is difficult
- Where especially necessary to improve public health or promote healthy child development and obtaining consent is difficult
- Where cooperation with a government agency or similar body is necessary and obtaining consent may interfere with such cooperation
- Other cases permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other applicable laws
Article 8 (Outsourcing and Use of External Services)
The Company may outsource all or part of its operations to third parties and allow them to handle User Information to the extent necessary for provision/operation/improvement of the App, analytics, ad distribution, support, and related purposes.
The Company may use third-party services such as analytics tools and advertising SDKs, and such third parties may obtain part of User Information. Details are governed by privacy-related information separately specified by the Company (including this Policy and in-app notices).
User Information may be handled outside Japan, including where contractors or third-party services are located abroad.
Article 9 (Security Control Measures)
The Company implements organizationally and technically reasonable measures to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of User Information and to otherwise ensure security management. However, complete security is not guaranteed.
Article 10 (Retention Period and Data Deletion)
- The Company retains User Information for the period necessary to achieve the purposes of use.
- Data may be deleted upon withdrawal or termination of use. Scope, timing, and targets of deletion are subject to App specifications and Company operations.
- The Company may retain data for a certain period where deemed necessary for legal compliance, dispute handling, fraud prevention, and similar reasons.
Article 11 (Requests for Disclosure/Correction/Suspension of Use)
Users may request disclosure, correction/addition/deletion, suspension of use, and similar actions regarding their personal information held by the Company through procedures specified by the Company. The Company may require identity verification when handling such requests.
Article 12 (Business Succession)
If the Company transfers business related to the App to a third party (including business transfer, merger, company split, etc.), the Company may transfer rights and obligations, including User Information, in connection with such transfer.
Article 13 (Changes to this Policy)
The Company may change this Policy in response to changes in laws or App functions. The revised Policy will be announced by methods separately specified by the Company (such as in-app notices or website posting), and if a user uses the App after such notice, the user is deemed to have agreed to the changes.
Article 14 (Language)
The Japanese-language version of this Policy is the official original. Versions in other languages are provided for reference only. If there is any discrepancy, the Japanese-language version prevails, and other language versions have no legal binding force.
